SUMMARY

The Barback provides products and supplies for the Beverage team while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Restock bars with alcohol, ice, and other supplies. Ensures inventory levels are sufficient by pre-stocking for each day’s service and re-stocking as needed.
• Stocks, cleans and maintains self-serve stations and server stations.
• Sets up and maintains cleanliness and organization of work area according to food safety standards and sanitation requirements. Responsible for daily checklists in walk in cooler and storerooms to maintain organized and clean storage areas.
• Takes out trash as needed. Sweep, mops, and ensures all bar areas are maintained at all times.
• Stocks dishwashers with appropriate chemicals and runs loads of dishes as needed.
• Provides excellent customer service to internal and external guests and addresses concerns promptly
• Communicates clearly with Bartenders, Cocktail Servers, and others to ensure smooth operations within the team.
• Performs all duties in a positive, professional manner.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
• Must be able to work the required work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to perform all assigned tasks.
• Ensures all safety standards are met, and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

• 6 months previous barback experience is preferred. Experience with restaurant bussing is helpful. Familiarity with casino or bar operations is beneficial.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and work through multiple tasks at once. This includes the ability to work calmly and effectively under deadlines. Must be detailed oriented.
• Must be able to work individually or with a team as necessary to perform assigned tasks.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Must be able to work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to add, subtract, and multiply.
• Must be able to maintain the appropriate Gaming License.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain responsible service of alcohol certification through Prairie Flower training courses.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Regularly required to stand and walk for entire shift.
• Regularly lifts up to 100 pounds. Push and pulls up to 200 pounds.
• Uses hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Must have the dexterity to hold and maneuver kegs, equipment, mop buckets, and carts. Will constantly need dexterity and strength to stack cases and load dishes.
• Consistently required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and crouch. Ability to use a step stool or ladder. Reaches and lifts above head.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud in a kitchen environment.
• Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
• This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed. Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area.
