We are seeking an Experienced Barista to become a key member of our team and represent Kanafani Sweets & Coffee’s commitment to excellence in both product quality and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

In this role, you will take ownership of crafting high-quality espresso-based beverages, ensuring prompt and friendly service, and maintaining our café’s impeccable standards. You will also collaborate with the confectionery team to create exceptional sweet-and-coffee pairings. Above all, you will be instrumental in cultivating a warm and welcoming environment that keeps our guests coming back.

Please Note: Proficiency in English is a must for effective communication with customers and team members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Preparation and Quality Control

Skillfully prepare a full range of espresso-based beverages (latte, cappuccino, macchiato, Americano, etc.) and drip-coffee methods (pour-over, French press, etc.)

Uphold best practices in espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art for consistently high-quality drinks

Stay updated on industry trends, new brewing techniques, and creative drink ideas

2. Customer Service and Communication

Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and engaging manner

Demonstrate proficiency in English to clarify orders, offer suggestions, and describe flavor profiles effectively

Maintain a warm, inviting environment by addressing customer concerns promptly and creating memorable interactions

3. Menu Knowledge and Sweet Pairings

Acquire thorough knowledge of our sweets, confections, and pastries, understanding how they complement different coffee beverages

Offer thoughtful drink and dessert recommendations based on customer preferences and dietary needs

Communicate with the confectionery team to innovate new pairings and seasonal menu items

4. Cleanliness and Organization

Adhere to health and safety regulations by keeping workstations, equipment, and dining areas clean and sanitized

Restock ingredients and supplies (coffee beans, pastries, syrups, etc.) accurately and efficiently

Follow food handling best practices to maintain an immaculate environment for both staff and customers

5. Operational Efficiency

Manage the cash register, process payments, and handle financial transactions with accuracy

Practice proper inventory management by tracking product usage and reporting shortages or inconsistencies

Participate in team training sessions and provide support during peak hours to ensure seamless service

6. Collaboration and Professional Growth

Work closely with fellow Baristas and pastry staff, sharing knowledge and tips for continual improvement

Attend product tastings, barista trainings, and team meetings to refine skills and maintain a high level of service

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience:

Minimum of 1–2 years of barista experience in a specialty coffee shop or café environment

Language Proficiency:

Must be proficient in English (both spoken and written) for clear customer interactions and team communication

Coffee Knowledge:

Advanced understanding of espresso extraction, manual brewing methods, milk steaming, and latte art

Customer Service:

Proven ability to deliver friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service

Work Ethic and Attention to Detail:

Strong focus on cleanliness, consistent product quality, and efficiency

Physical Requirements:

Comfortable standing for long periods and performing moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs)
