The Business Development Manager (BDM) – Hydrology will play a key role in driving business growth by expanding AEM's presence within federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as other key accounts in the hydrology sector. The BDM will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities with federal agencies, their state and local offices, and other hydrological organizations. This position requires a balance between managing high-value government relationships and driving sales within the broader hydrology market.
This position reports directly to the Director of North American Public Sector Sales and will work collaboratively with the go-to-market (GTM) team to drive targeted growth in the hydrology sector.

Requirements:· Experience : 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the hydrology or environmental sectors. Proven experience in securing federal and non-governmental contracts and penetrating key hydrological accounts.
· Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of hydrological monitoring solutions, water management technologies, and federal procurement processes. Experience working with agencies such as USGS, BIA, US Army Corps of Engineers, and other key hydrological organizations is highly preferred.
· Grant Writing & Funding: Demonstrated ability to support customers in identifying and securing grant funding for large-scale environmental projects.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, hydrology, environmental science, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in government contracting are a plus.
· Sales Acumen: Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with a focus on developing long-term, high-value relationships with both federal agencies and hydrological organizations.
· Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with environmental data platforms, hydrological sensors, and real-time monitoring solutions. Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
· Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to lead complex sales cycles, collaborate across departments, and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
· Travel: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time within the continental US to engage with federal, state, local, and hydrological clients.

· This is a remote opportunity that can be done from anywhere in the continental United States.
· Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work
authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.

US Compensation Range: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 per year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. AEM considers a wide range of factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education, licensure and certifications, key skills as well as other market and business considerations when extending an offer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
