Butner Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Butner): FCC Butner is a well-established institution providing medical care for hundreds of federal inmates with complex health conditions in Butner, North Carolina. UMass Medical and its affiliate UHealthSolutions provides all required services including oncology, renal care and nephrology, ophthalmology, cardiology, wound care, hepatology, orthopedics, physiatry, and more for other medical concerns. We are committed to working with the Bureau of Prisons to find collaborative solutions to improve health outcomes and service delivery for these inmates. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for the administration of financial, operational and general business functions related to medical provider and program administrative services. The Clinical Practice Manager will manage and coordinate with all staff to ensure prompt and efficient service delivery for client companies and employees, on-site management of event(s), hiring of staff, follow-up of any event related reporting or issues and other duties as assigned. Leads clinical teams for assigned units with responsibility for all operational functions of the team. Works in partnership with the Operations Manager to provide administrative and medical staff support to the operations of the ambulatory care unit and offsite appointments

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads clinical teams for specialty care with responsibility for all operational functions of the team. Works in partnership with the Operations Manager to provide administrative and medical staff support to the operations of the inpatient unit.

  • Works collaboratively with the Operations Manager in assessing the appropriateness of level of care, ensuring timely placement of the inmate in facilities capable of managing that level of care, to ensure the quality and competence of rendered care.

  • Responsible for coordinating clinic visits in ambulatory care in a manner that focuses on quality and efficiency. Accesses barrier to treatment and delivers feasible solutions.

  • Develops and monitors Medical Provider schedules to ensure compliance with the contract-required staffing matrix, and to support maximum provider productivity;

  • Develops Utilization Management program by performing case reviews in a timely manner with assigned Physicians and Medical Director, including referrals for potential over/under utilization, case discussion, transfer planning and quality of care issues.

  • Responsible for developing and initiating improvements in the organization and delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care. Responsible for nursing clinical practice, budgetary personnel activities, and regulatory activities associated with the unit and the clinical department, and continuing support of the Bureau’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

  • Responsible for ensuring the very best patient experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to company and unit specific Service Standards.

  • Ensures administrative claims are being captured.

  • Responsible for utilization reports.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • RN presently licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina with at least 3 years’ progressive management experience in a health care setting

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least 5 years progressive management experience in a health care setting
  • Master's degree in nursing or Health Care Administration or related field preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Work involves contact with patients of all ages, family members, physicians, nursing, and all other members of the health care team.
  • Work is performed in all areas of the institution.
  • Work may require lifting or pushing in excess of 30 pounds.
  • Work requires walking, running, climbing and bending.
  • Customer service and communication expertise

You will be trained in UHealthSolutions and Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCC Butner policies by UHealthSolutions and Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCC Butner, respectively. As a condition of employment, you must gain and maintain Federal Bureau of Prisons, FCC Butner approval for facility access. Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of urinalysis, physical, and background investigation. All applicants are subject to National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and credit checks.

Successful completion of the “Introduction to Correctional Techniques”, three week training course is required.

This position has been identified as test designated. Incumbents will be subject to urinalysis testing under the BOP Drug Free Workplace Plan.
