Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications in a mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will support legacy systems, participate in modernization initiatives, and ensure COBOL programs run efficiently and securely.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain COBOL programs (batch and online) based on business requirements
Conduct system, unit, and integration testing
Create and update technical documentation and operational procedures
Ensure compliance with industry standards and security practices
Support modernization and migration efforts from legacy COBOL systems
Required Skills:
Proficiency in COBOL (COBOL-85, COBOL II or newer)
Strong knowledge of JCL, DB2, IMS, VSAM, and mainframe tools (e.g., Xpediter, Abend-AID)
Experience with IBM mainframe environments (z/OS, OS/390)
Familiarity with version control and deployment in mainframe systems
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of Assembler or PL/1
