Job Description
Role:
Ensures the Credit Union is in compliance with all state and federal regulations, laws, and rules. Analyzes new and pending compliance requirements affecting the Credit Unions practices. In conjunction with the Risk team, helps develop, revise, communicate, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Reviews, assesses, develops, revises, and ensures the adequacy of programs, policies, and procedures designed to safeguard Credit Union assets and maintain regulatory compliance. Ensures policies and procedures are appropriately documented and disseminated. This includes working in conjunction with our external compliance partner.
Stays informed of new and pending laws and developments related to compliance issues, analyzes requirements, works with business unit owners to ensure policies and procedures are appropriately documented and revised.
Supports the AVP/Compliance and Audit Manager to support the Credit Union Compliance Management System. Assist in scheduling the review of internal Credit Union areas for compliance. Assist in investigating complaints.
Provides employee training on compliance related issues and policy changes. Develops a library of compliance resources for employee use. This includes holding a quarterly compliance meeting with all Business Unit Managers.
Work with external auditors to review reports detailing conclusions of audits and/or compliance analysis, reports violations as appropriate, provides recommendations for improvement, and follows up to ensure compliance.
Maintains records and documentation of compliance activities, complaints, investigations, and outcomes. As needed, analyzes, prepares, and files appropriate reports with regulatory agencies in conjunction with the risk team. Help maintain and review the Credit Union’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
Prepares and presents reports concerning Credit Union compliance issues to the AVP/Compliance and Audit Manager.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
This is a hybrid position and requires a minimum of one to two days per week in office.
