Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Facility Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of all buildings, ensuring that it meets legal requirements and safety standards. Also the ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed systems including fire and security alarms. Works with and manages all outside contractors in support of the office operations, including maintaining records and contracts, manage project activities, and coordinating contractor work schedule. Primary contact for facility related emergencies which may require evening and weekend work

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of buildings and spaces, and structural inspections for safety
• Shovel and plow snow, and salt sidewalks and parking lots
• Perform repairs on systems, equipment, and buildings, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical system
• Respond to emergencies, such as fire alarms, HVAC system alarms, and security alarms
• Coordinate the work of outside contractors, and coordinate cleaning needs with the cleaning service provider
• Coordinate cleaning needs of the building with the cleaning service provider as well as with trash removal service
• Perform landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming trees, and planting flowers
• Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the hospital needs
• Keep and maintain all necessary records

Preferred Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous Facility Maintenance preferred

• A thorough knowledge of general maintenance procedures along with a skill set that includes basic proficiencies in some or all of the following: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical/mechanical systems
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task
• Good time management and attention to detail
• Relationship building, collaboration and teamwork
• Flexible work attitude and work habits

Travel Requirements

Light travel required. (Locally)

Physical Demands

Physically demanding, requiring employee to be able to lift heavy items, bend, stand, climb, and work in adverse weather conditions

The employee must be able to lift and/or move objects of at least 50 pounds.
