Job Summary

The Global Director of Supply Chain will have the responsibility for strategic and value driven activities in all aspects of Supply Chain for the Solutions Group. The main responsibilities for this role are to develop, implement, and own the supply chain strategy, lead the team to deliver strategic initiatives which enhance, automate, simplify, and streamline the supply chain process, and think globally with one-collective unified approach representing all regions and ensuring all functions work in unison to delivery strategic initiatives which enhance the supply chain process. The position will report to the Chief Experience Officer and will be a hands-on role.

Also, this role will be instrumental for leading centralisation and standardised global supply chain processes across the organisation, including developing and implementing long-term supply chain strategies that align with the company’s overall goals, while ensuring the integration and alignment of all supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions within the supply chain.
  • Partner with the Global Director of Procurement to lead supplier relationships to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Partner with the Global Director of Procurement to lead to negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
  • Partner with the Global Director of Procurement to monitor and evaluate supplier performance and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained at appropriate levels to meet customer demand without incurring excess costs.
  • Lead, monitor, and improve 3PL vendors performance.
  • Oversee the logistics and distribution processes to ensure the timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • Optimize distribution networks to improve delivery times and reduce costs.
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to align supply chain activities with market demand.
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks.
  • Monitor global supply chain trends and regulations to anticipate potential disruptions.
  • Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
  • Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Promote sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, including responsible sourcing and waste reduction.
  • Take responsibility for yearly audit; achieving standards and the reporting thereof.

Special Requirements

  • Attend morning and evening calls to coordinate activities with others in different time zones.
  • Physically participate in onsite customer visits (depending on all regions needs)
    • Travel maybe required
  • To participate in the field during cycle count stock, must have the ability to:
    • Walk long distances
    • Stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time
    • Bend, squat, kneel, and lift heavy objects greater than 50 lbs (23 kg) if required
  • Work on ladders

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced supply chain environments and line management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent education.
  • Expert level in line management.
  • Expert ability in prioritising and balancing time among multiple activities.
  • Expert level in leading a portfolio of concurrent projects delivering business outcomes on-time and on-budget.
  • Expert level in project planning, project management, risk management, change management with outcomes focused on execution, speed, and budget management.
  • Expert level in managing time effectively and delegating tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Expert level in troubleshooting, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Highly organized and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and an openness to new approaches and solutions to enhance the customer experience.
  • Demonstrate good judgement using facts and analytics.
  • Expert level in communicating both written (grammar and punctuation) and verbal.
  • Natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand.
  • Expert level in building strong relationships with customers and with team members.
  • Expert level in handling customers with patience, tact, and empathy.
  • Expert level in internal and external conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for customer service and supply chain and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
