Job Description

The Harbor Pilot has responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the barges inside of the Catlettsburg, KY Harbor. Along with the following duties:

• Responsible for tow configurations, drop-offs, pick-ups, and duties of other crew members.

• Overseeing the work of the crew members, (Deckhands and Mates).

• Has direct control and responsibility of the boat, barges, and crew members.

• Uses radar to determine the geographic position of the vessel for safe Navigation.

• Coordinates the activities of crew members responsible for signaling devices, such as the vessel's whistle, flashlight, flags, and radio to signal vessels in vicinity.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma/ GED.

• Valid Driver’s License.
