The Manufacturing Engineer will play a lead role in developing new methods for assembly operations in electro-mechanical products and final testing. This person will have the opportunity to learn from a current manufacturing engineer on the team that is retiring to assist in on-boarding. Client Details Our client is an aerospace manufacturer located in Norridge IL with about 100 employees at the facility which support customers like Boeing, Northrup, Collins Aerospace, and more. They are owned by a parent company that oversees an entire manufacturing portfolio in the U.S. over $1B in annual revenue. Description Responsible for productivity improvements, automation implementation, and Lean initiatives. Develop and Improve processes in a machine shop and assembly environment. Troubleshooting production issues of mechanical and electrical nature. Ability to understand electrical schematics and troubleshoot/identify component level issues. Develop automation, optimized methods, special tooling & machine/test stand designs for the purpose of cost reduction, quality & process enhancement Drive shop floor CI through lean minded process/flow improvements and cross functional kaizen events. Develops requirements for tooling, fixturing, testing and support equipment. Being involved in capital expenditure discussions Employee's primary duties require him/her to use discretion and independent judgment. Understanding Customer and Engineering (Mechanical and Electrical) requirements and translating them into our processes Profile 3+ year in manufacturing, preferred in electronics/electro-mechanical assembly or testing (i.e. PCBa, motors, wiring, ect...)
