UPMC is looking for a flexible Occupational Therapist to join their team at UPMC Somerset! As an Occupational Therapist with us, you'll
provide occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.

• Keep detailed records for all occupational therapy services, including initial assessments, follow-ups, and discharge summaries. Biweekly co-signing of occupational therapy assistant's documentation.
\n
• Communicate patient updates to the referring physician and healthcare team.
\n
• Record charges and statistics to reflect services provided to patients accurately.
\n
• Schedule patients to meet or exceed productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
\n
• Offer verbal or written home instructions to patients and families when needed.
\n
• Supervise clinical internships for students from various universities as part of the organization's educational program.
\n
• Maintain professional licensure by engaging in ongoing education and professional development.
\n
• Assess, reassess, and treat occupational therapy patients, and supervise assistants in providing care to a diverse age range.
\n
• Develop and adjust treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient responses.
\n
• Rotate through different treatment areas as required.
\n
• Participate in staff meetings and educational in-services actively.
\n

• Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
\n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
\n
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
\n
• Occupational Therapist (OT)
\n
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
\n
• Act 33 with renewal
\n
• Act 34 with renewal
\n
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
\n
