Closing Date: 06/04/2025 District: Springfield City Schools Who We Are: The Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Psychology Assistant -TOSA for the 2025-2026 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. Our academic and extracurricular aim is to ensure social and emotional learning growth for students with a wealth of opportunity, including a 1:1 initiative and the YouMedia Center, which is a digital learning lab offering students activities such as 3-D printing, graphic design, and videography. Consideration will be given to individuals who have been responsible for coordination of intervention teams and/or individuals who have training in specific areas related to the design of interventions, analysis of student performance data and progress monitoring, and administration of standardized and criterion-referenced individual student assessments. An educator with experience and specialized training in areas such as reading/literacy, behavior and social-emotional development, special education and other areas that require individual student planning and decision-making may be best suited to work in this capacity. Preference will be given to candidates who possess or have applied for an Intervention Specialist license or have the ability to obtain a supplemental license as an intervention specialist issued by the Ohio Department of Education. As a Psychology Assistant -TOSA you are required to: Valid Ohio teaching certificate or degree commensurate with position (Psychology, Social Work or related field) Minimum of three years teaching experience preferred or experience as a psychology assistant Preference given to Intervention Specialist and/or those interested in pursuing a degree in Psychology Preference given to applicants with experience in the coordination of intervention teams and/or training in specific areas related to the design of interventions, analysis of student performance data and progress monitoring/administration of standardized and criterion-referenced individual student assessments Preference given to applicants with experience and training in reading/literacy, behavior and social-emotional development, special education and other areas that require individual student planning and decision-making As a Psychology Assistant -TOSA you will: Experience/training in assessment, consultation, and counseling of children ages 3-22 Experience with a Multi-Tiered System of Support for all students Be able to work collaboratively with multiple teams to ensure student success Maintains a professional demeanor; exemplifying responsible leadership Engages in active and innovative approaches to student learning Assist students in the development of responsible behaviors Engage in collaborative planning with colleagues; supporting building and District level programs Utilizing technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process. Participating in professional development activities that are aligned with district and building goals, assigned subject content and the varied needs of students. Perform other duties as assigned What We Offer: As a contracted employee, School Psychologist Assistant - TOSA work 183 days per year and 7.25 hours per day. Starting salary is $43,816.00 with increases for additional education and experience. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits.
