Job Description

A receiving coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of materials, products, and shipments in a facility. This includes:

• Recording : Maintaining accurate records

• Labeling : Printing and labeling products

• Storing : Coordinating the placement of raw materials, supplies, and finished goods in the proper locations

• Using machinery : Operating machinery such as pallet jacks and hi-lo drivers safely

• Completing paperwork : Completing all necessary paperwork and filing 

• Receiving and unloading : Unloading trucks and ensuring products are received and loaded on the dock safely and efficiently
• Inspecting : Checking goods for damage or defects
• Processing : Processing purchase orders (POs) in a timely manner
• Maintaining inventory : Maintaining inventory counts and ensuring inventory levels are in line with company policies
• Communicating : Coordinating with other departments, carriers, and freight forwarders

Some skills and experience that may be useful for a receiving coordinator include:

• Knowledge of dimensional testing and manufacturing 
• Understanding of material practices 
• Excellent oral and written communication 
• Being organized and detail oriented 
• Having computer experience 
• Being able to stand or sit for long periods of time
