Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Research Analyst II to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to program evaluation efforts, from planning through execution, helping to assess and improve programs that make a meaningful impact on the communities we serve. You'll manage evaluation projects across multiple programs and help empower teams with the tools they need to make data-driven decisions. This role offers the opportunity to foster continuous improvement and help create a positive impact on both internal processes and program outcomes.
This position is hybrid, with two days in the Menlo Park office and three days working remotely. During the initial training period, you will primarily work from the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluation Planning & Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders both within and outside the organization to plan, design, and implement evaluation projects. Collaborate on data collection, management, and sharing, ensuring that evaluations meet program and organizational goals.
- Conduct Evaluations: Co-conduct evaluations using both qualitative and quantitative methods to assess programs and initiatives. Analyze primary and secondary data to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Data Management: Oversee the creation of effective systems for collecting, storing, and ensuring the quality of all program data (both electronic and physical).
- Special Projects & Research: Lead special evaluations and key tasks, such as formulating research questions, writing evaluation plans, designing data collection processes, managing project timelines, and delivering results.
- Grant Support: Contribute to the development of grant proposals and provide technical support to programs in alignment with grant requirements and goals.
- Site Visits & Observations: Conduct site visits to observe program operations, assess quality, and ensure program fidelity.
- Program Improvement: Evaluate current program operations and outcomes, using research and data analysis to recommend strategies for program improvement.
- Present Findings: Share your evaluation results and recommendations with both internal teams and external stakeholders through presentations, reports, and briefings.
Qualifications

Experience
- 3 to 5 years in program evaluation and/or human services evaluation.
- Experience with internal evaluation, mixed methods evaluation, community-based research, and data collection/analysis techniques.
- A Ph.D. program completion can substitute for 2 years of required experience.
- Familiarity with data systems (e.g., Salesforce, Clarity) for data collection, storage, and program analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Job Knowledge: Understanding of human services programs, evaluation design, and analytical/data management practices. Familiarity with evaluation theory (e.g., empowerment, utilization) is a plus.
- Technology Skills: Proficiency in data analysis for both qualitative and quantitative research, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), online data collection tools (e.g., Google Forms, Survey Monkey). Knowledge of statistical software such as R, Atlas TI, or PowerBI is a plus.
- Planning & Organization: Proven track record of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, resolving problems, and making timely decisions.
- Cultural Competency: Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion into all aspects of the work.
- Other: Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings and local travel within San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.
Education
- Master's degree in social sciences (or related field) with a focus on measurement, human development, public health, or human services.
- Ph.D. with a focus on evaluation theory is preferred.

Targeted Salary Range: $76,901.86 - $82,400
