DESCRIPTION

The Role: In Amazon Devices Reverse Logistics, the Sr. Materials Manager is responsible for all supply chain activities related to fulfilling Lab126 warranty requirements and certified refurbished device demand. This role covers both tactical and strategic aspects of Supply Chain Management including material sourcing, planning, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing component sourcing strategies, reduce supply chain costs, and expand the current material supply chain planning and distribution capabilities. This person needs to have strong business acumen and be able to work cross-functionally with internal Reverse Logistics and mass production stakeholders as well as external third-party suppliers. Your goal is to ensure continuity of supply for all products in multiple facilities around the globe, while growing the team’s sourcing capabilities. In this role, you will:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for various categories of goods and service
• Manage the commodity RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand commodity business needs and requirements
• Develop and implement risk management strategies for the global supply chain
• Develop and deliver on cost out opportunities within the reverse logistics material supply chain
• Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships through WBRs, MBRs, and QBRs
• Act as the main point of contact for material issues both internally and externally with our suppliers
• Communicate forecast and verify fulfillment from a materials perspective
• Understand key forecast inputs and trends and the downstream impact on materials
• Have a strong understanding of Bill of Materials systems, processes and general disciplines
• Support devices from NPI through to End of Life and establish material strategies to support warranty requirements beyond the end of manufacturing
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to implement strategic solutions to continually improve our materials management processes
• Manage Clear-to-Build (CTB) updates. Visibility to material supply, highlighting projected coverage and constraints
• Schedule and host meetings with suppliers globally to proactively manage material and eliminate shortages as required
• Develop and maintain KPIs with contract manufactures
• Both domestic and international travel may be required

A day in the life
The Reverse Logistics Materials Manager is responsible for all supply chain activities related to fulfilling Lab126 warranty requirements and certified refurbished demand. This person has a business orientation and is will work with all of the Reverse Logistics cross functional teams as well as our external suppliers. Your goal is to ensure continuity of supply for all products in multiple facilities around the globe.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree or higher level education
- 7+ years of supply chain planning experience in a consumer electronics or enterprise tech Company
- Prior Experience sourcing electronic components including hard to find/obsolete parts
- Proven track record of managing sourcing projects and initiatives
- Experience in developing and maintaining CTB, inventory management, and component material planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management and working knowledge of MRP/Planning systems
- Inventory Management Experience
- Proficient in MS Excel
