We are a growing technology company transforming how dealerships communicate with their customers. We build innovative software that enhances the customer experience and supports dealerships by improving call and messaging operations. Handling over 10 million calls monthly, we are scaling rapidly and looking for a skilled VOIP/SIP Engineer to develop and maintain robust VOIP infrastructure to meet our growing needs.
We are searching for a VOIP/SIP Engineer to lead our efforts in building an in-house VOIP solution, eliminating reliance on third-party providers like Twilio, Bandwidth, and Telnyx. The ideal candidate has experience with Freeswitch (or Asterisk), OpenSIPS (or a similar VOIP proxy), AWS, and WebRTC applications. You will play a critical role in managing and scaling a VOIP infrastructure capable of handling high call volumes reliably and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Develop: Architect and implement a scalable VOIP solution, prioritizing Freeswitch or Asterisk, to replace third-party dependencies.
Proxy Server Management: Utilize OpenSIPS or a comparable VOIP proxy server to manage SIP traffic efficiently and securely.
Cloud Infrastructure: Build and scale VOIP environments on AWS, optimizing for performance and cost-efficiency.
Web App Integration: Develop scripts or services in Python, Golang, or similar to handle interactions between the VOIP infrastructure and web applications.
WebRTC Applications: Design and integrate WebRTC solutions to facilitate web-to-VOIP functionalities for enhanced user experience.
Troubleshooting & Optimization: Continuously monitor and refine the VOIP infrastructure to handle our current volume of 10+ million monthly calls, ensuring reliability and low latency.
Required Experience
SIP/VOIP Solutions: 2+ years of experience with SIP/VOIP, preferably on Freeswitch (or Asterisk).
VOIP Proxy: 2+ years with OpenSIPS or a comparable VOIP proxy server.
Cloud Engineering: 2+ years of experience building and scaling VOIP solutions on AWS.
Programming Skills: 2+ years of experience in Python, Golang, or another language relevant to web-to-VOIP requests.
WebRTC: 2+ working on WebRTC applications.

Our hiring process in consists of three steps:
1. Phone interview - 10 basic software and/or development questions
These are designed to be short, off the cuff, and serve as a way for us to rank candidates on the basic skillsets you will need to be successful. You won’t receive any feedback on this call directly and they should take no more than 20 minutes
2. Technical interview
Ascertain your technical knowledge, problem solving abilities, debugging techniques, etc. This interview usually runs about 60 to 120 minutes in length. Please come prepared to demonstrate your work, knowledge, etc
3. Business / operations interview
This will be a panel interview with several members outside the development department that will not be technically focused at all but to determine whether Volie would be a good fit for you organizationally.
