Customer Description

Our customer is an Intelligence Agency (IA) delivering world-class geospatial intelligence providing a decisive advantage to policymakers, war-fighters, intelligence professionals and first responders. The customer enables all these critical actions and shapes decisions impacting our world through the indispensable discipline of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT). Our customer is a unique combination of intelligence and combat support agency. It is the world leader in timely, relevant, accurate, and actionable GEOINT. This IA enables the U.S. intelligence community (IC) and the Department of Defense (DOD) to fulfill the president’s national security priorities to protect the nation. Although GEOINT is the most critical data within this agency, all data that is produced, collected, and stored plays a supportive role in the day-to-day operations of our customer.

Program Description

BlackSpoke is the prime contractor on a program awarded to provide agile operations, adaptive maintenance, and minor enhancement services to support the maintenance, integration, and ingest of multiple business data sets into an analytic environment. This Intelligence Agency program is focused on human capital data, and also focused on activities to bring in other corporate business data sets such as; Information Technology, Cyber, Security, Financial, Contract, Customer Feedback, and Mission Management Activity. One goal for the program is to provide the Agency with the capability for a centralized authoritative data repository, refreshed automatically, from source systems of record and transaction databases along with a range of visualization tools for reporting and delivery to end-users.

Team Description

The Blackspoke Team consists of various experts within the IC that are highly focused on Cloud Architecture & Design, Data Architects & Scientists, Data Visualization Experts, User Interface & User Experience (UI/UX) Experts, Database Warehouse & Mining Experts, and Scrum Masters that will help achieve mission objectives.

Job Description

As a Developer / System Administrator, you will perform tasks related to cloud operations (Amazon), System Administration (Windows), Application Management (SQL, SharePoint), and scripting (Python, PowerShell). A typical work week involves ingesting data sets, monitoring data ingest jobs, developing software packages, monitoring systems and applications, identifying errors, identifying fixes, and applying fixes, and managing relationships with customers through completion of requests or restoring services when there is an error.

Qualifications

All the person needs:

1. TS cleared (we can get the SCI and polygraph),
2. ability to work at customer site in DC Metro area (Springfield VA)
3. Some IT experience,

Desired Core Skills:

• Desired familiarity and experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Cloud Operations – management of virtual machines (VMs), storage, and security groups.
• Windows Administration – system administration of Windows Servers to include daily operations, patching, and application installation.
• Application Administration – support of a web based application, database application, or third party application.
• Programming / scripting – use of programming and code to automate data routine functions using common languages such as PowerShell or Python.
