The Company is in search of a Vice President of Public Relations to play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's communication strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and making key decisions regarding the direction of both basketball and business communications. This includes developing and maintaining strong partnerships with various stakeholders, managing all media relations, and producing a wide range of media materials. The role demands a deep understanding of the game of basketball, a solid record in strategic communications, and proven relationship-building skills. The Vice President will also be tasked with fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment, managing PR staff, and overseeing the execution of communication systems to keep internal stakeholders informed. Applicants for the Vice President of Public Relations position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 7 years of experience in PR, communications, storytelling, project management, and leadership. A background in the NBA or WNBA is preferred. The role requires a candidate with a strong commitment to service, excellent presentation and public speaking skills, and experience in developing and managing community outreach strategies. The ideal candidate will be adept at working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and be able to handle the physical demands of the job, which may include standing for long periods and moving around extensively during events. Technical skills in AP writing style and feature writing are essential, as is the ability to manage a communications budget and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
