Primary Responsibilities

1. Interview Screening

  • Conduct detailed initial screening interviews with applicants to assess qualifications, experience, and compatibility with company culture and job requirements.
  • Use standardized screening questions tailored to the role of drivers and helpers.
  • Evaluate candidates’ licenses, certifications, driving records, and other job-specific credentials.
  • Record comprehensive interview notes and ratings for each applicant to aid decision-making.
  • Identify red flags, such as gaps in employment or inconsistencies in provided information, and flag them for management.

2. Collecting Onboarding Information

  • Gather all required documentation from potential hires, including:
    • Driver’s license and CDL (if applicable).
    • Proof of work eligibility.
    • Medical certifications and drug test results (if required).
    • Insurance forms (if applicable).
    • Background check authorization forms.
  • Ensure compliance with company and legal requirements, including maintaining secure records of sensitive documents.
  • Verify the accuracy of all submitted information and request corrections or additional documentation if needed.

3. Providing Onboarding and Screening Instructions

  • Clearly communicate the next steps in the hiring process to applicants, such as completing background checks, scheduling driving tests, or drug screenings.
  • Share detailed instructions on how to complete onboarding paperwork electronically or in person.
  • Provide login details and guidance for any company portals or tools used in the onboarding process.
  • Schedule and coordinate orientation sessions, including communicating the agenda and requirements to new hires.
  • Create and distribute onboarding packets containing company policies, job expectations, and contact information for key personnel.

4. Recruitment and Hiring Support

  • Post job openings on relevant platforms and monitor applications.
  • Keep applicants informed about their application status through timely updates and follow-ups.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and candidates to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
  • Build a database of potential hires for future needs, ensuring candidate records remain up-to-date.

5. Administrative and Operational Assistance

  • Support driver and helper scheduling, ensuring all positions are filled effectively.
  • Assist management in workforce planning by maintaining a clear view of driver and helper availability.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and notify management of any discrepancies.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Proficient in online collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and ATS software.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with compliance and documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation regulations (e.g., CDL requirements).
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
